Villa Borghese

You can enter this villa from many places, a central one is the entrance from Piazza del Popolo, from the Pincio.

The bad weather is starting to go away, the warm temperatures are starting to come back and more importantly, the sun has started to come back in our days.
What does this call for? Well, staying at home and watching a movie during the day under your warm covers may seem appealing, but there is something much better to do.
We're in Rome, and when a day is sunny we don't like to stay in, we like to go to a Villa. And when I say villa, I'm not talking about a house with a pool, I'm talking about the extensive gardens of Villa Borghese, Villa Ada, Villa Glori, Villa Balestra and all the other Villa's that are open to the public. This nice weather really does call for a visit in one of these magnificent parks.
You can do whatever you like: be with your partner and joke around while laying on the soft grass, or having a picnic, or renting some segways and going around Villa Borghese.
There are tons of things you can do on a sunny day.
You could just go on the Pincio and look at Rome, and when it starts to get a bit before dinner, you can enjoy an aperitivo in one of the bars or maybe at Casina Valadier. You can even go to the Bio Park in Villa Borghese and look at the animals if that's what you like. Just don't stay in, go enjoy the sun and the nice season in one of these beautiful Villas.

La Vecchia Pineta Restaurant

This restaurant is frequented by chic Italians who love to eat well-cooked fish. You can decide whether to eat outside in the beautiful veranda overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, or you could eat inside, still having a great view.
The food is delicious, simply great. When you order the waiter will bring a tray with the catch of the day and you can choose which fish you want. I advise you to order as an appetizer the moscardino fritto con riduzione di aceto balsamico e porro paglia (baby squids with balsamic vinegar reduction and leek straw) and as a main course the fettuccine nere con vongole veraci e fiori di zucca (black fettuccine with veracious clams and pumpkin flowers), you will not be disappointed. Nonetheless, as might be expected, whatever you order will be of your liking.
The wine selection is also excellent, and the staff will help you choose the best wine or champagne to accompany your meal. I recommend you order chardonnay di Jermann, it goes great with seafood. The desserts are also delicious, but not as first-class as the main courses. I recommend you make a reservation before you go. Enjoy!

Just a few steps away from the beautiful Piazza Navona and located in one of the most historic sites in Rome.
This bar is perfect if you want to drink a cocktail and hang out with your friends in a nice and trendy atmosphere full of chic Romans.
The bar has a unique history and it re-opened in 2010 with a a new design and a larger area to sit down and drink something.
It is also open during the day for lunch and dinner but I advise you to go there from 10.30 pm when the night-life starts. The drinks are good but a bit pricy. Enjoy!

"Il Baretto" bar

Located near Campo de'Fiori: Piazza Pollarola 37/a

Located in the the heart of the historic center, this small bar is a must if you are hanging out in Campo de' Fiori. The bar is next to Studio 18, and makes the best shots you'll drink in the center at a cheap price. The cocktails are also great, and also priced reasonably.
I advise you to take the "tiramisu" the "cervelletto" or the "godfather" shot. These are some of my favorites, but everything is really good. The bartenders make really good Mojitos as well.

Konnichi Wa Restaurant

Located in the neighborhood of Prati, Via Otranto 9/11

This Japanese restaurant will not disappoint you at all. It's one of the few in Rome that serves great sushi, and not only great, but also at a reasonable price.
You can either order from the a la carte menu, or if you prefer you can ask for the "all you can eat" menu. You can order delicious things, such as hosomaki, extremely fresh sashimi, nigiri, urumaki and so much more. I highly recommend you to order the philadelphia rolls, the avocado rolls and the sake sashimi, but everything you order is super fresh and delicious. The restaurant also has a very nice interior design, and a wonderful smoking section for those of you who want to enjoy a cigarette. The wines are also good and the waiters are friendly and efficient. Enjoy!
