Rome Film Festival

From the 16th of October till the 25th of October Rome will be hosting its 9th Film Festival. This year it will be held in different locations around Rome, with the opening night and major events being hosted at the Auditorium Parco della Musica. It will host exhibitions and other events in addition to the film projections and the famous red carpet, which will be one of the biggest in the world.
Also the famous MAXXI, designed by the Iraqi architect, Zaha Hadid, will host the Wired Next Cinema program while the Film international market will take place in the heart of the Dolce Vita in Via Veneto.
Throughout these ten days, the major collection of the festival will be composed by four different sections:
Cinema D'oggi, that will display films by both well-known authors and new young talents. Gala, which will display the most popular yet original films. Mondo Genere, which will be a selection of different international and European film genres and Prospettive Italia which will call attention to the new trends in Italian fiction.
Each category in the film festival will have a winner, and these will be chosen by the audience! You can download the official Rome Film Festival application to your smartphone and vote yourself for the winner.
A lot of international films will be projected, including Luis Ortega's Ulu and Oren Movermen's film about a homeless man trying to get back in touch with his daughter, Time out of Mind in the Cinema D'oggi section.
While the Gala section will show David Fincher's Gone Girl starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, a story about a man whose wife's disappearance has turned into a major media focal point and all of a sudden his innocence is being doubted.
Starting from October 17th until the 21st, the Film Market will represent a place where well-known artists can communicate their work to major film industries.
Clive Owen will be in Rome to promote his new television series, The Knick, which will be projected on the 17th and 18th of October. Enjoy!
